Our main character is Robert Langdon. He is a Harvard Professor who teaches symbolism and other smaller minors that go along with symbolism. Mr. Langdon has quick mind and with years of experence in symbology he can point out a symbol in even the smallest of details. Robert Langdon is the main character in most of Dan Brown's series and even after everything that Langdon been though, solving the Freemanson conspircy, the Holy Grail conspircy, and even chasing a mad man around Italy, he can be a little hard headed when it comes to ideas that seem ultimatly impossible. This is because of his undertsnading that symbols usually just come from stories and fables that have been passed down though the centries and are just myths, but his close mindedness helps moves the stoy by creating an enviroment of mystery and also by showing the other side to a story.
Our second main character is Sienna Brooks; An exteremly smart women, with talents in acting, and undying passion to save and help people whenever possible this makes her a very strong character in the novel. She decides to start helping others but while doing so to she finds out that its impossible to help everyone. To make a long story short she meets Zobrist and is facinated by his ideas and follows his teaching which the reader doesnt discover till the end of the novel.
Elizabeth Sinskey is the Director of the World Health Organization. Sinskey originally recruits Professor Langdon to help her solve the clues that Zobrist was leaving behind however, Due to Langdon's amnesia he doesn't remember spends most of the novel running from her and her team. He ultimate mission is to stop Zobrist plan. Sinskey learns about his from Zobrist himself who reaches out to her to so she may see the growing need to solve the overpopulation issue. She being revolted by his plan puts Zobrist on the terrorist watch which forces Zobrist into hiding.
The novel's Antagonist is the extremely smart and elegant Bertrand Zobrist. Zobrist is a genetic engineer and has made a fortune on creating cures and making huge leaps in understanding how our genes work. Zobrist is also a member of a group called Transhumanism (H+) Transhumanism is a class of philosophies of life that seek the continuation and
acceleration of the evolution of intelligent life beyond its currently human
form and human limitations by means of science and technology, guided by
life-promoting principles and values. However Zobrist believes that humanity won't survive long enough to see its true potential due to overpopulation. He designs a vector virus basically a vector virus is a virus that inserts its DNA into a host cell and uses the host cell to recreate the DNA. Zobrist creates a vector virus that makes 1/3 of the population infertile.
